To my readers:
Some porn stars write, others crochet or knit, I go out to kick some AIDS ass. Today I depart for Africa on a fantastic grant to work in a hospital in the fight against HIV mano-a-mano. I am sad to be leaving my lovely city by the Bay, but I am also thrilled by the opportunity in front of me.
HIV has been a bit of a mortal enemy to me for a long time. It has claimed the lives of my friends, colleagues, and community members. It has presented a daily struggle for many more who courageously fight not only an assault on their own immune systems but also the ideas that our culture has about what it means to be HIV+. I’m only one, but I’m not alone. These condoms aren’t going to unroll themselves you know.
This isn’t a notice that my blog is closing. Far from it, in fact. There are updates in the tubes that will be popping up while I’m gone. They won’t be “live” so to speak and I’m not working on any shoots while I’m gone. I will miss all of you so much and I can’t wait to get back to the states in about two months to tell you all about my exploits from the other side of the world.
Please keep stopping by and leaving comments. My internet access is going to be a bit spotty but I will be looking for them. I’m still a tart, a writer, a muse, a model, and a fighter. I’m not going to be shutting my mouth any time soon.

I've never left a comment here before but…(Nothing good ever comes after that statement so feel free to quit reading!) But damn, I think you're fighting the good fight here. I've always thought you were a pretty, smart and extremely super sexual person (which is fine, but I'm like 600 years old so why should I care…) but now I'm wondering why you're not on a stamp or something. Wouldn't that be cool? Anyway, keep up the great work and the blog isn't nearly as important as everything else you're doing! rod
You are an inspiration to me exroomie. I can't wait to hear all about this trip of yours via twitter and here.
Maggie, I agree with Anon, I'm not 600, just in my mid seventies and I'm proud to know you.If an accolade from an elderly perv means anything to you, you have it, well done girl!!!Warm hugs,Paul.
Where in Africa are you headed. It's a big place. And how long is your tour?Africa is a life changing place. Expect the unexpected and have patience. I learned to have lots of patience while in Africa.
YOU'RE AWESOME.
