Why Sexual Freedom is for Everyone

Because everyone should have the right to Focus on Their Families even though they aren’t always composed of a Christian, married, heterosexual set of parents. They are still a family.

Because funding to fight against poverty and disease epidemics should not be dictated by a particular set of morals. It should be dictated by need.

Because sex worker rights are human rights.

Because our bodies are our own.

Because we have the right to give consent or not.

Because free speech includes mine and yours.

Because desire is fluid and it may not be the same from day to day.

Because everyone has a right to healthcare and education that is accurate, unbiased, and up to date with medical science.

Because we have a right to live without shame.

Because sexual myths can cause sexual violence.

Because you don’t have to buy everything in the Marketplace of Ideas but you do have a right to comparison shop or browse.

Because on the 1st National Sexual Freedom Day we should remember that is this fight for everyday.

Because instead of shutting down websites that “promote sex trafficking” we should be looking at the reasons why sex trafficking occurs and offer help and services to those effected rather than deportation.

Because choice is power.

Because it’s about time.
